NOAH (Networking, Organizing, Advocating for the Homeless) — NOAH provides lunches to the homeless in Detroit, as well as counseling, crisis intervention, health care and other services to its clients. A side benefit from the Rummage Sale is that we are able to send shoes, socks and jackets to NOAH for the homeless. Thank you Holy Trinity for making this possible. We prepare and deliver 400 lunches five times a year for the homeless in Detroit.
Gleaners Food Bank - For nearly 40 years, Gleaners Community Food Bank has been "feeding hungry people and nourishing our communities." Please join us in helping provide food and hope to hungry neighbors in southeast Michigan. Together, we will end hunger in our communities. We provide canned and nonperishable goods for Gleaner's Food Bank.
We support Church World Services Livonia Area Crop Walk each year. We have several members who are actively involved in the program. In 2016 Holy Trinity had 18 participants and raised $2,780.00. The Livonia Area Crop Walk as a whole had eleven congregations with 172 participants and raised $15,926.50
Livonia Cares Assistance Program - We support the Livonia Cares Assistance program through our Pumpkin Place Fundraiser each October. Formed in 2011, Livonia Cares is a group of more than 20 local churches that have come together to help meet the needs of the poor and vulnerable within the city of Livonia. Inspired by Christ’s call to serve the poor, this broadly ecumenical group of Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant and Evangelical churches seeks to foster greater cooperation among churches, social service agencies and other community organizations to collaborate to address poverty right here in our community.
Holy Trinity supports a large variety of other benevolent work via Women of the ELCA, Cross Generation Service projects, Education and other church organizations.
